When I re-boot windows ME, about two times out of three windows will only partly boot. I get the message "Msgsrv32 has caused an error in Devcon32. Msgsrv32 will now close". The machine then freezes with the background screen and hourglass showing. Msgsrv32 is an exe file and Devcon32 is a dll file (sound card driver, I think). I've checked the registry (OK, booted in safe mode (works ok) and used the troubleshooters to disable various parts of boot files such as system.ini. I haven't yet solved the problem. Does anyone have any ideas as to what else I might try?
