Hi I am having a problem.
Recently I just defragged my Hard-disk and gave it a check with Scandisk and I have been clearing out some of my old files.
But I have noticed a HORRIBLE boot delay.
As normal, I turn on the computer and the black screen comes on, it checks the hardware etc. and then it brings up the Windows screen, (blank, with the wallpaper as normal). It loads a little, plays the startup sound, and hangs. For about 10 seonds AFTER the sound has played. Then it loads up as normal.
There is definately something wrong. While it is hanging there is hardly any disk activity. It wasn't doing this before. What on earth is wrong?
Other than that the computer works fine, fast and slick.
It has...
A Pentium III processor @ 500mhz
64m of RAM
Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me)
3D Blaster RIVA TNT2 Ultra
Sound Blaster Live! 1024 Player
Diamond Multimedia 56k Pro VCC modem
v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v^v
I would REALLY appreciate your help. :)
Thankyou very much,
