Windows Mail 6.0 - Connection problem

I have a new computer that is running the Vista OS. I set-up Windows Mail 6.0 to match the settings I used in Outlook on my XP and 2000 operating systems.

I was successful one time when downloading mail. Now that I try again, I cannot get a connection with the mail server.

The only thing different is that on the first try I was connected by cable to the network. Now I'm using a wireless connection. I don't know if this makes a difference.

Can anyone help with my connection problems?

Does your wireless connection work in all other aspects? and/or does your e-mail work properly when plugged into a wired connection? Have you installed any security software since this problem started - firewall, antivirus, antispyware, etc? Double check the server, username & password details.
