I have a client that is using a compiled exe that was compiled with VFP 6.0. When she exits the program, a border outlining the original splash screen is left on her desktop and the system locks up. Ctrl-Alt-Dele does nothing until you hit it a second time, bringing about a system boot. Mouse, clock, and all other items are non-responsive.

She is running Felix, a "cat" screen saver. I suspect Felix.

Has anyone had anything similar happen, and if so, what was the problem/cure?

Thanks

I hope I am not stating the obvious, but the first two things to do are to (1) disable the screen saver on the client's machine and run the app, and (2) run the app and screen saver on your own machine. Screen savers are notorious resource hogs, so that could present a problem. The client could also be running any number of other applications on their system that could be causing this problem. Make sure the app runs fine on your machine (and others), and then by process of elimination, you can determine which app on the client's machine is a trouble maker. If you determine that another app is not the trouble maker, it will be time to inspect the code more thouroughly to determine whether or not the splash screen itself or some other facet of the program is at fault.
