Windows Live on W7 import WAB

Try to import Windows Address Book off OE on XP
Move the WAB across click on it or use Live Import and it all goes perfectly. You see the progress bar moving across, about 2-3 minutes, 'Done' but there's nothing in the Windows Live address book except the 10 or so that have been manually entered.
Is it OK to import when there is already something in it? or something entirely different?
