Hello,

I have a gmail account and was using Windows Live Mail 2011 with W7 operating system until something happened and I cannot get it to go back on line. Searching the internet provided an answer to go to IE and click go on line or cycle that button. Well I use Firefox and I cannot get a version of IE that has this feature. So I also have a working copy of Microsoft office 2007 which has Outlook. So I decided to use Outlook as my mail client.

I followed the directions on how to export the WLM data, however after working on several hundred messages a screen pops up asking me to enter the password for a previous email account. Let me step back and say that I had an old email account with a previous internet supplier (it is that account that is popping up). When I switched to Gmail, I imported all of the previous account into Gmail, and now I am trying to import the Gmail account into Outlook.
The sad thing is I don't remember the password and in fact the provider is out of business.

So now I have this pop up holding up the migration. Why does it need to have this data? Also if it needs the data is there a way to bypass this request?

Thank you for you help in advance!

Set GMail to allow 'insecure apps'
Turn on POP3 for gmail if you want to to download the messages or use IMAP just to read them.

Assuming you know the security settings, use the Gmail account password recovery process.

But if the 'pop up' is from the provider that is out of business, there probably is no mail box/mail server to connect to.
