Windows Live Mail 2012 - messages from Yahoo! appear blank 1

I'm using Windows Live Mail 2012 on Win7 64bit, which works fine. I collect mail from some three POP3 accounts, and send messages without problem. It works as expected.

However, messages from my wife(!) sent from her Yahoo! account appear blank. See attached.

If I click Select All and copy, I can paste everything into Word, and it looks fine. However, I don't think it's white text on the white back ground - I sense it's an image of some sort. I say this because if I look at the message source, I can't see the text, only what looks like code for an image.

I've had a quick look at the wife's laptop where she uses Yahoo!'s webmail, and I can't see anything obviously out of order which is specific to my email address. She has no problem at her end, receives and sends messages as expected and says it's only me that has a problem.

Is there some way I change how Live Mail 2012 reads these messages from Yahoo! or alternatively change some seting on my wife's Yahoo! webmail?

Many thanks.

Two things come to mind, but not that I KNOW either of these to be the cause.
1. Need java to display the email on your computer?
2. Outbound message formatting is HTML and your client is set to Plain Text?

Bingo!

Well sort of. If I check "Read all messages in plain text", then the absent text appears. However, the messages are clearly sent using some kind of formatting as the various fonts and styles appear when the invisible text is pasted into Word.

At least I know how to read messages from Upper Management now - many thanks for your time and pointing me in the right direction.

Finding the mail options dialogue wasn't obvious, but I've uploaded a screen capture of it.

Hey, two guesses and one was nearly correct. Not bad for not knowing what I was talking about.

After spending a lot of time experimenting, I'm concluding there's a conflict between Yahoo!'s webmail and Windows Live Mail 2012.

If I send a message using my Yahoo! account via Yahoo!'s POP mail to my primary email A/C, there's no problem.

If I send as identical as possible message via Yahoo!'s online webmail, I get a blank message with everything hidden - the same symptoms as from my Mrs's Yahoo! acount from her laptop.

I'm also having difficulties with Acronis backing up my Live Mail 2012 messages etc. Maybe Live Mail 2012 uses non-mainstream coding or my installed copy is corrupt.

And I'm sure there's better POP3 email clients than Live Mail 2012, so that'll be my next venture.

OK, problem solved.

The solution was to install IE11. I understand that Windows Live Mail uses IE to interpret the HTML. I had IE10 installed (though never use it as I prefer FF), and the update was straightforward.

I had followed a suggestion that my old (1991!) T1 PS fonts were the cause and uninstalled them, but it made no difference. (I'm still updating publications whose lives began in the early 90s with PageMaker 3. They're now edited in InDesign but the style palettes are the same.)

Once I rebooted after the IE11 install, all is well.

Many thanks.
