WINDOWS / INTERNET EXPLORER HELP

Every time I open Windows Explorer I get an error message as follows: 'Internet Explorer cannot open the site file \\C:\........ invalid argument'
I click on OK and goes into Windows Explorer. But, when I click on anything in Windows Explorer it gives a similar error message but the path is different.
Any ideas? I am also unable to Open Internet Explorer.
