I have a Visual Basic 6.0 app. running under Citrix Metaframe 1.8 on Windows 2000 Server, with Office 2000 Premium installed. I'm getting a "Windows Installer" message each time one of my users runs the VB app. The VB app. runs OK otheriwse; it's just annoying to see this message. I looked up the Event log messages in the Microsoft KB and they say that it's related to Office 2000 and MSCOMCTL.OCX (MS KB: Q298385); I don't get messages about the CD though. My VB app. uses this OCX. If I put a user in my domain admin. user group, connect to Citrix and run the VB app., no message; then when I take the user back out of the admin. group, he gets the message again. There's no additional messages saying what it's trying to install. When a user runs an Office app., he doesn't get the Installer message. Office was installed using the Office Resource Kit Customization Wizard and transforms. VB was installed via the Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs. Finally I should add that for security reasons, the users do not have privileges on many of the servers' drives and folders. Any ideas at all would be much appreciated.
