After using SMS installer to repackage Office 2000 I run the .exe file on the client machine. After SMS runs throught the installation the Windows Installer box pops up and says Preparing to Install... This just seems to sit there and never goes any further. Is there a step in the repackaging that I am missing? All I'm doing is the repackage option and compiling it. I really didn't play with any of the other setting since I'm not really sure what they do.

Have you actually run the program from the Installer window?
I would suggest doing this, and using the debugging tools.
You can set break points anywhere in the script, and the program will run to that point and stop. Or you can do things like insert a display message command. These, combined with the single step (F8) will allow you to pinpoint where the problem is.
