I’m trying to upgrade IBM Director Server from 4.2.02 to 4.21 on a Windows 2000 server and I keep getting the following Windows Installer error:
“The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch.”
I’m using the patch that the Director 4.12 documentation says to use; I downloaded it from the IBM site here:
Is anyone else having a problem like this?
Also, is it possible to uninstall IBM Director and install a new version without losing all my groups and event plans?
Does TWGSave.exe and TWGRestore.exe work with different versions of Director? Can I restore the info I saved from an older version to a newer one?
Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks!
