Windows install problem

Hi,
i am using ASRock K7S8x Motherboard with AMD Athlon 2400+ processer.
when i am going install windows XP on it, in text mode installation (blue screen before creating partition page) when i need to press F8 to accept the term and conditions.
The computer is become shutdown.
Then I have to plug off and the again on to start.
i try many time , i change the ram and hard disk, but its still doing this.

In the BIOS, Load Default values...

1.) Disable SMART for HD.
2.) Disable Virus Checking.
3.) Set Plug and Play OS to NO.
4.) Safe and Exit.

5.) try reinstalling XP.

if the above don't help, reply here and let us know further...

What is the blue screen error your getting? that would be helpful in getting an idea if you could write down the error code the blue screen gives you. Also check the ide cable for it might be bad. Also is the cd clean and in good shape? Also is the processor staying cool enough? also make sure the temperature shutdown protection isnt set to low to where its kicking off on average temp.
