Hi
I did some window-like menus in flash but I got one problem: The elements behind the window are still active...
Let's say there's a button: If you drag my window over the button and click on the window, the action of the button behind the window is executed as well...
Is there a simple way of disabling things in the background or do I have to check that myself on every click?
Thank for any hints

To completely remove the background things that are under your window, try inserting a blank keyframe into their timeline at the same point as the window appears. This makes them disappear, but also makes them inactive.

Thanks Matt
unfortunately I'd like to show the other elements as well - so hiding them or unloading them doesn't really help in this case...

The only real solution that I know of is similar to Matt's. While one of your windows is active, you'll have to move the main movie to a next frame (with a stop() action), where all your other elements are the same, but where the buttons' behavior have been changed to graphic rather than button.
When you're window is no longer active, you can back up the main movie to the previous frame, where all your other buttons will become active again.
