I am running WinXP with three different users. Paint Shop Pro7 used to work on all three but now will only work on one. When either of the other two try to load PSP7, they get the "Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close" When I look at the details, I see:

Error signature
AppName: psp.exe AppVer 7.0.0.4 ModName: mfc42.dll
ModVer: 6.0.8665.0 Offset: 0000f9eb

I have removed and reinstalled the program but nothing changed; same error message.

One of the users getting the message has not used the computer for several months. The last time was long before the error started occurring.

Any help would be appreciated.

I found the answer and it solved the problem.
