Windows GUI has gone crazy....shows #'s instead of icons

I have a user who has a Win95 problem....she will be working along on something..(doesn't seem to matter what) and all of a sudden the screen will shake some and whenever it stops flickering the start icons, close x's and minimize -'s will all become 8's or 4's or other #'s. The colors change somewhat too....a restart will fix it for a time but not permenantly.....this is the wildest problem I have encountered yet...actually it all looks pretty cool after the malfunction.

has anyone seen this before?

It was a virus....W95.mtx worm virus.......I went to

http://www.norton.com

and looked up the virus and followed the directions for removal.....it was aggravating to remove

I would recomend getting norton AV , and updating your scanner every week, if you dont already use it, Norton is one of the best out there (Pinicilian is the best if norton doesnt work well with your Win2k)
