Hi - Can anyone explain this to me.... I had a service running that started several applications. Unknown to me, the Windows firewall was blocking these applications from making critical connections to each other. As a result, my system was not performing as expected. At no time was there a windows popup saying that these apps were being blocked. During the course of investigating the "flakiness" of these apps, the service was stopped, and the apps were started interactively using a DOS window. As they were starting up, the windows firewall warning came up, saying they were blocked. I unblocked them and everything started fine and worked as expected. Now, when they are started as a service, everything is good. How come I never got the firewall popup when it was being started as a service???
Thanks
Cindy
