I have a Server running Windows Server 2000. I had some problems with the control panel and came here for help. I followed some links and I have fixed my problem. Now, However, My server seems to be having problems opening 'My Computer'. It can take up to 1 min, for it to respond to any mouse click. IE expand the columns, a right click, or a double click. Once I double click on a drive and I wait up to 1 min I can jump around in that drive with no problems, but If I go back up the file structure to 'My computer' again, I have the dely. Has anyone had this problem? or know of a solution?

Thanks for the help in advance,

-Jeff

Perhaps its trying to retreive a directory structure from a device that is not longer there?
Have you checked Event Viewer for SCSI timeouts trying to access a particular drive or anything like that?

I've run into this problem with 2000 workstations before...the cause was hardware related to a hard drive failing...these were IDE drives not SCSI. You may want to run a check disk (chkdsk) or a hardware utility to verify all of your hardware.

An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk2\DR6 during a paging operation.
This is the message that I recieve in my event viewer

EventID: 51
what can I do to relsove this?

thanks again for the help
