Okay so here it is...driving me nuts....a couple of machines connected to a hub on a peer to peer network using TCP/IP....
One machine with a modem using wingate as a proxy sever.
the problem is than when you go into one of the other machines and open Windows explorer (not internet explorer) and browse to the network and to the machine with the proxy server on it...it initiates wingates autodial and then connects to the local resource...if you stop the connection and try again it will connect locally first time...but if you leave it for a while or reboot it will do it again. If however you disable wingate it connects to the local resource first time...
Why is it sending a request to wingate to connect to the internet when it is browsing local folders?
