Windows Explorer, hanging,

Often when i open i open windows explorer, and go to the drop down box, the drop down list hang's. And i close out explorer and re-open, or sometimes it is just a delay. Any ideas?
I have only noticed this on my windows 2000 pc.

Not that I am sure you have this but this is what the Bat.Mumu virus does. Do you have AV software running with updated definitions?
