I am trying to use Windows Deployment Services to Automate the install of Windows XP Pro.
- I have installed Windows Deployment Services in native mode on a Windows 2003 server and built a pc that I want to use for imaging.
- Following the instructions from MS I ran this command to sysprep the pc (sysprep/OOBE/Generalize/Reboot). This is supposed to sysprep the image and reboot the pc and then, following the instructions I should press F12 and Windows Boot Manager should allow me to choose to boot to the appropriate capture image.
The first time I ran this commard it syspreped the image but when I pressed F12 at reboot, the pc got stuck at the dhcp screen. The second time it came up with an error saying "Grace period limit has been reached and will not be reset." I click ok, then the pc reboots and I get the following on boot up, after it finds the DHCP server:-
PXE - T01 file not found
PXE - E3B TFTP error - file not found
PXE - MOF Exiting HP PXE Rom
PS: I was in the process of using RIS when it was upgraded with SP2. I had to rebuild the server I was going to use and then didn't have an option to go back to RIS, and there didn't seem to be much point going back has I hadn't created an image yet.
Can anyone help?
