Windows Deployment Services...

Hi Everyone,

I have tried everything, to allow WDS to auto partition in the deployment services. I cannot get it to work. I have followed the Microsoft articles and that does not work either, does anyone know how to make the WDS auto partion, so it would be an silent install of Windows Vista,

Clearly not since you have not tried what works. ;-)

What HAVE you tried and what articles did you reference? What is your domain setup? What version of Vista are you trying to deploy?

Well WDS isnt that complicated once you get the habits of it.
First of all you have two unattended files: One for the server and one for the images.
The per server script you mainly use for logon credentials and in case you want to run fully unatteded or have only one image.
The second script you can use for the various settings relating to the chosen image.

The setup process is divided into various phases and the diskpartitioning can only be done in the WinPE pass.

If you cannot get it to work in the per image unattended, you might want to try it in the per server unatteded.

Let us know what you have done sofar, and we will try and help you.

For documentation there is a reasonably good explanation in the WAIK.chm and I believe I have seen a few Technet articles on the matter aswell.
