I have a lab that I want to be able to use both Linux and Windows. The lab is set up as a LAN with a Linux server (k12ltsp). The Linux server is connected to the school's network through a 2nd NIC.

Linux is fine for everything, users on the Linux server can login and have Internet access.

Windows clients can have Internet access, but can not authenticate themselves to the Novell 5 server on the school network. They can ping the school's servers (including the Novell one) using their IP addresses. The Novell client is version 4.83.0.0 for the login screen.

Any ideas?

Is that config using NAT? Nat won't work with Novell NCP. It corrupts the packets.

Otherwise, try mapping to the server using the IP address instead of the name. That will rule out any name resolution issues.
