Hi,

I am connecting to a Citrix server from a Compaq T1010 running Windows CE via an ICA published desktop session. How can I remove access to the Start Menu programs for the particular user as ALL my server applications are availble on the Start Menu. If I remove any of them they are removed for EVERYONE using the server including myself (Administrator. Windows CE seems not to have locally stored profiles.

You will need to edit the Start Menu for All Users.

For Windows 2000, goto C:\Document and Settings\All Users\Start Menu

You will see under here and the Programs Folder nearly all the shortcuts shown on the Start Menu. Select whatever Program shortcuts you don't want your normal users to see and move them to the Administrators Start Menu. Which would be a something like C:\Document and Settings\Administrator\Start Menu

The other way is to actually apply security rights to each program shortcut folder under All Users. For instance you want only a selected group of users to have MS Project access, so you put MS Project shortcut into its own folder under the \All Users\Start Menu\Programs and apply security rights to that folder for that group of users to Read/Execute the contents of the folder. All other users will see a MS Project folder but nothing will show up under it in the Start Menu.

Hi,

On each of your Citrix Servers, run GPEDIT.MSC and disable the Common Menu Items, that will remove all unwanted folders from all users, then in default user, create a start menu bar that you really want, and when a user logs in, that profile will be loaded for them!

Other than that you'll have to write a script to copy a menu in from another place that you have created!

Cheers,
Carl.
