I lost my CD key, but Same Enterprise verison of 2k installed on other computer.. Is there any way i could that Track CD key installed on other computer or is it Encrypted...

Thankyou in advance..

It is encrypted it Win2K. You find it in the registry. I dont think you can retrieve it at all. Its unfortunate. I liked having it in Win9x. Unless someone knows of a software program that can sniff out the key, you will be forced to find your case for the #. James Collins

Thanks,

If it's not a dodgy copy, you can just ask microsoft for it. They've helped me with that sort of thing before...

I am sorry on Win2K I meant you cannot find it in the registry. James Collins

The CD key is in 98's registry but not 2000s deliberately to improve security.

If you genuinely have the product, use another CD key from another server. If you don't have one, get one from someone who trusts you or contact Microsoft.
