I am posting this here so it just might help a few people searching for an answer to a common glitch in Vista's Windows Explorer. This might work for this particular problem:
—The user keys in a partition or drive, intending, for example, to look into his Drive (X). Drive (X) does indeed respond properly, and shows as it should; BUT, right on top of it, up pops an annoying popup advising him that WINDOWS CANNOT FIND Drive (X), and suggesting he makes sure he has typed the name properly.
There are many variants of this glitch. There is even a $$$ software program posing as shareware that attempts to squirm some money out of those who trust its dubious integrity.
Anyway, try this. It might work for you:
In Vista, in any window in Windows Explorer (for example, under My Computer):
TOOLS > Folder Options > View
[scroll about halfway down the list]
UNCHECK "Launch folder windows in a separate process"
[OK]
I hope that helps. It worked nicely for me.
