I have a creative services department that is running tha latest version if 10. I am trying to get all their files on one of my Windows 2003 servers. I have setup the sharing so they can access it and it prompts for a user name and password, but I wanted to have that setup so they can be authenticated when they first login. Is there a way where it is to prompt them when they first startup? I know the Mac has a password, but would be similar to logging onto you "Local Machine". I guess what I am asking is how can you setup the Mac or if you can setup the Mac to join the domain and create a domain driven profile on that machine.

Thanks.

You would need to go into Directory Access and configure the Active Directory. That and obviously configure your network settings for TCP/IP to use static or DHCP, which ever you are using thus configuring your DNS as well if you use it.

Directory access is in Macintosh HD, Applications, Utilities.

After that you can create an apple script and at it to the start up items so when they logon the shares are mounted automatically. There is thread a few down from yours about mounting shares that i posted from Thursby.

Speaking of Thursby, you can also use / purchase Admit Mac which i use here vs. the Active Directory plugin from Apple. You can check that out at Thursby.com
