please help - i'm tring to use both DOS and windows - if i install DOS first and windows over it i get compatablility mode IDE drivers under device manager -- if i intall windows clean i loose CD-rom and zip under DOS (and my color/dircmd preferences prompt), how do i install both real DOS 6.22 and windows so that each loads thier respective drivers when needed!!??? - this can be done - used to have this on my system - only i didn't configure it!--need advice!!-thanks.

I would suggest you do a clean install of Windows first, and get everything working. Once you have done this, either boot to MS-DOS or goto a DOS window, and install your CD-ROM and Zip drivers from the command prompt.
At the same time edit config.sys and autoexec.bat to make any other changes and preferences that you need.
