I hope I'm doing this right as I can use some help (my ex told me about this site so I figured I'd give it a try). My niece was here for a week and, without thinking, I allowed her access to my new notebook. It's running Windows 7 starter. My problem is, when I boot up, I get the keyboard on my dektop & a nagging narrator. I've tried a few things unsuccessfully. Can anybody tell me how to stop this before I try putting my hand thru the monitor & choking the living crap out of her & beating her with this on screen keyboard (narrator, not niece but I might reconsider this if I get no help). Just kidding! Thanks for any help you can offer!

Hi,
Try this:
press the Windows Key and in the seasrch window type accessability (if spelled correctly?)- it should bring up the Ease of Access center where you can turn off the access features she must have switched on.

[/b]On-Screen Keyboard[/b]:

Open [/b]On-Screen Keyboard[/b] by clicking the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking Ease of Access, and then clicking [/b]On-Screen Keyboard[/b].

there should be a check box which turns the On-Screen Keyboad on and off.

[b}Narrator[/b]:

To open [b}Narrator[/b] click the Start button, and then, in the search box, type [b}Narrator[/b]. In the list of results, click [b}Narrator[/b].

Again, there should be a check box that allows to turn it on or off.

PS: Hitting the CTRL button, stops the Narrator from reciting...

The above two posts will solve your problem but just remember System Restore was specifically designed for pesky Nieces.

How to repair the operating system and how to restore the operating system configuration to an earlier point in time in Windows Vista (or 7)
