Hi there

I have had numerous problems ever since I installed WIN98SE but anyways the most recent is that my PC seems to be turning itself on randomly. I always follow the correct shutdown procedure and it does not restart straight away however a few hours later it turns on. I also am experiencing random attempts to connect to the internet, failure of Windows Update and loss of user settings upon restart. Can anybody help me please....

Justin

Have you tried turning off your modem after shutting down your PC? I have found out that if someone calls your phone and you modem is on, and connected, it will boot your machine.

Hope that helps a little.
ahdkaw
ahdkaw@sensibilium.com
<a href= you do visit my sites - be warned! Depending on your machine, there may be a "wake on modem ring" option. Disabling this may solve your problem without unplugging the modem.
Al
atc-computing@home.com
