I have a most peculiar thing happening. I have 2 computers linked through a broadband hub. One computer is Windows 98se, the other Windows 2000 Pro. Originally both computers could read and use each other’s files. Due to Easy CD/DVD 6 causing problems on Windows 2000 I had to re-format it. I managed to install everything okay and was able to connect to 98 and read the files etc.
However, when I tried to Map Network Drive 98 to 2000, I entered the correct letter and path to the 2000 computer, then clicked okay. I now get the Enter Network Password box.
As I have not changed anything on 98 I cannot understand why I am being asked for a password that I have not created. I do not use passwords for either computer.
Can anyone tell me how to either connect or find out what the so-called password is, so I can deal with it?
