Okay i'm not sure if anyone else has wondered about this I know microsoft was going to release a windows update cd or whatever, but then prolonged the support of win98. I was just wondering if anyone has an easier way of updating window 98 machines with out using the internet. It would just make my life so much easier when I repair someones PC. I know about windows update catalog, i've downloaded the updates but then i was like this is great i've got a hundred different patches to apply and i'd have to click on each one. So if anyone know an easy way of updating 98 please let me know

Thanks for the replie yeah i have seen that link before. It still leaves with having to click on each file to execute to install the patches i'm just trying to avoid having to install each patch one by one. Not to mention i've been trying to find a copy of IEv6 that i can put on that cd to so i don't have to download IE either.

In regards to the IE6 request, take a look at:
thread616-1080415

In Feb last year, MS issued a free CD called MS Update Security CD that covered all OS's and was an automatic install. I have found it invaluable, especially with win98 as it brings a clean install up to IE6 and security patches to Fed 2004. It is a simple matter to then get the latest from there (which isn't very much in relation to win98)

See if you can find one of those CD's.

Cheers,
Brodie
