windows 98 probelms

what programs should be running in the background when windows first starts.

ALso, i am having the problem of the system looking for a lost file everytime that the computer starts, I had installed and uninstalled an HP All-One-Printer, how do i get rid of the problem of the computer always trying to find it.


64MB RAM
300MHz Pentium 2
 
It depends on what you've got loaded to startup.
All you REALLY need is Explorer and Systray.

Crank up msconfig. Start > Run > msconfig > got to the Startups tab. Find your printer and uncheck it. This should stop the lost file problem.

What is the message you get? Have you searched google?
