I have recently installed WinBoost on some of my computer to "lock" them done a little better. I took away the MS-DOS option and the Run command. I have "hidden" the program in Explorer. The problem now is that I have a problem with one computer and I can not access the WinBoost program to "unlock" the PC and fix the problem. How do I get my Run command back? I "locked" out too many things.

Hi

I don't suppose pressing the 'Windows Key' and 'R' brings up the run command.

Hope this helps

I'm not familiar with winboost. What do you mean by "cannot access the winboost program." Can you not launch it at all? Can you not uninstall it? By the way, have you tried calling tech support for this product?

Matt

P.S. This probably won't work, but pressing the Windows key + R on the keyboard will bring up the run box.

Hi

Another thing you could try is boot the machine into safe mode and try to access WinBoost from there

Hope this helps

Go to search and type in the name of the file you are looking for such as Winboost or Run and if it is hidden somewhere in your machine, it will find it. You will probably need to type in System Configuration to get the RUN program to show up.

Hello techgeek34,

Check if you have NoRun flag enabled. But, I'm not sure how deep the computer is in trouble or whether you can look into the registry. One way or another : open it with regedit or boot to dos than regedit export then import .reg file to delete key etc. The following is the key you should look into. The .reg lines give you the idea.

'-----below this line----
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
"NoRun"=dword:00000000

'------above this line----
Either NoRun should be set to 0x00000000 or be deleted altogether to give you back the Run in StartMenu.
