OK This may sound odd and strange but I am trying to get Windows 98 to install on an old Compaz Prolinea 466. The computer is a 486 DX2 66MHz. It also meets all the minimum requirements set by Windows 98 and yet still when I run setup It fails the Processor speed check and says that the processor is too slow. I have tried the command line Setup /? with no help there. Does anyone know a way to either disable the Processor check or any other way to install this?

Please E-Mail me at:
DJensen@Bresnanlink.net

try typing setup /? in dos mode
Karl
kb244@kb244.8m.com
<a href=
Experienced in , or have messed with : VC++, Borland C++ Builder, VJ++6(starting),VB-Dos, VB1 thru VB6, Delphi 3 pro, Borland C++ 3(DOS), Borland C++ 4.5, HTML, ASP(somewhat), QBasic(least i didnt start with COBOL)

The other way to install would be to install the hard drive in another PC, say a Pentium. Install 98 bare bones as you don't want to waste time customizing it to the Pentium. Once it is up and running, yank out the drive and reinstall back in the 486. Fire it up and then customize and cleanup all the devices and drivers. Should work!
Ian Cowie
ianco@email.com

"If you see something THIS big, with eight legs, coming your way, let me know. Anyhow, how can I help you, eh?
