Hi everyone!

I ported a System from Delphi 3 to Delphi 7 (believe it or not). It works 100%, except on Windows 98 machines. Now I know that one should upgrade to 2000 or XP by now..... but according to the Delphi 7 specs the System should work. I get the messages "File appears to be corrupt" and
"Windows cannot run this program because it is an invalid format".

Is this possible? Any heeeelllp?

Regards,

Karin

What os is on the computer that you compiled your app on? Is it possible for you to set things up so that you can compile it on Win98?

Hilfy!

I developed on XP. Not possible to compile on Windows 98!

I wouldn't see any reason why your application wouldn't work on Windows 98. Are you using a database?? if so does windows has all the needed drivers/engine files?

It uses a Paradox Database. It worked when the System was a Delphi 3 system (on Windows 98). Nothing else was installed (only the executable was replaced). I don't think it is a DB problem. The thing is that the error message is given when the EXE is loaded. Couldn't it be that some setting in Delphi (during compiletime) converts the EXE to some sort?

not that I'm aware off, it must be something that you are doing in your application. did you upgrade the BDE, I think you must search into that direction...

Thanks. Will do so. Could be some incompatible piece of code.

Regards.
