Can someone please decifier this mumbo-jumbo:
---The 32-bit device driver CDRPWD(01)+0000AD23 has attempted to use a system service which is not loaded---Im getting this windows message after reboot or restart.Hitting the enter key five or six times finally allows me to enter back into Windows.Thanks.

Howdy:

The file "cdrpwd" was installed by Roxio/Adaptec's EZ CD Creator software and since it is referenced in the error message EZ CD Creator is probably the cause.

1) One possible fix is as follows:

1) Boot in safe mode
2) un-install direct cd and ez cd creator
3) delete the file "cdrpwd.vxd" in the windows\system32\drivers folder (Version info shows it as a beta direct cd driver from roxio.)
4) reload direct cd from the original cd

2) another possible solution is as follows:

a) rename the file Cdrpwd.vxd to cdrpwd.old in the c:\windows\system\iosubsys folder
b) make sure that the attribute of the files in the directory are not hidden.
c) restart the computer

3) if nothing else works you can try restoring a previous good copy of the registry

Boot the computer into a DOS prompt by holding the F8 key during boot and selecting the DOS prompt only option and do the following (<enter> means press the Enter Key on the keyboard)

cd\ <enter>
cd windows <enter>
cd system <enter>
scanreg/restore <enter>

then from the provided menu select one of the older registry copies shown on the pop-up window, click OK and restart the computer when the operation is done.

Thanks for your prompt reply.Yeah,I had downloaded the CD Creator 5 Platinum software from IMESH,and have deleted it.However , I have downloaded this same software before, and without any problems in the past. Thanks again. And much easier than using the Gateway tech support, and saved me about 1 hour.HEHE
