Windows 9.x RAS clients

I set up a W2k RAS server, it works ok with 2000/xp DUN clients, using the default policy, but if i try to connect from W9x client after handshakes it pop up a windows authentication dialog box asking for username, password & domain, both client and server aren't part of domain but belong to the same workgroup, "workgroup". Please help.
