Windows 8 will NOT use "Metro" interface

ZDNet is reporting that the word Metro is being dropped as a name for Windows 8's interface. MS says Metro was a code name similar to how Vista was codenamed Longhorn. The article does suggest, though, that certain legalities may also be involved.

This would have been news if they had reconsidered the metrocity and at least made it all optional.

Sadly they're just adrift trying to find a new label to hang on it.
