Hi All
We just upgraded to Windows 7 from Vista. We use VFP 8.0 and 9.0. Are there any service packs / patches needed to be installed for these VFP versions to be used in Windows 7?
Thank you very much for your help and time

Thanks TamarGranor for fast reply. So do you advise to upgrade the apps that are in VFP 8.0 to VFP 9.0 and discard VFP 8.0?

I think so. VFP 9 shipped almost 10 years ago. There's no new version coming, so you might as well standardize on the last version and not ever again have to think about version issues.

I second Tamar, it should also not be hard to convert a VFP8 app o VFP9, just recompile.

On the other hand, as you come from Vista, the fixes in VFP9 service packs, that address the windows aero style theme are the last thing coping with OS problems and Win7 has no real big differences on top of that anyway. So if your VFP8 application worked fine in Win Vista without the aero fixes, that would still be valid for Windows 7.

The main profit would just be putting away the VFP8 IDE for development and the VFP8 runtime for clients.

Bye, Olaf.
