I searched around, and surprisingly did not see any topics on it, so I will go ahead and start it. Anyone started using Windows 7 instead of Vista or XP yet as a VMPro server? Run into any issues? What about XP mode?

quite a while ago and I personally did not use Windows 7 to program systems (even though all programs I tried seem to run, tlpeter had some issue where he corrupted a system by using Win7.
I like Windows7 and I hope that Avaya will give the OK soon so that we can get rid of Vista (ualp)

I'm not running VMPro, only Manager, on Windows 7 RC

Manager (7.0) is fine except on x64 systems it installs into Program Files (x86) but tries to point itself to Program Files, and fails. Go to File, Preferences, Directories and change the paths in there. (Probably this is what it does on XP/Vista as well.

I;m running Vista Ultimate without any problem, make sure you disable the UAC settings from technet.

Have not had to change any UAC type settings on 7, for Manager, YMMV.

Bas1234, why did you need to disable the UAC?
My new netbook required an upgrade to Vista Ultimate for loading/using IP Office software.
Everything seems fine, but did I miss something going "boom?"

HELP!

Just installed windows 7 and now when i try to open an ip office config i get a message saying Manager has stopped working!

Have tried uninstalling/reinstalling and rebooting but the same thing is happening...

I have tried using xp compatability mode too but it is still crashing..

Do you use a normal version or do you use the RC version ?

By the way, Im opening an offline config. Either by clicking the saved config file or via offline menu. I can open manager normally and i dont think there would be a problem opening a live config on a unit.

Then your offline config is not good
Like i said, i have no problems at all

its the full version. I will try a newer config but i have tried a few of our backup ones we've always used.

I am using win7 ultimate RC and have had no issues with Manager/Monitor/SSA. I even ran VMPro on it just as a test and it worked fine. Not tried VMPro in a live environment though.

Don't ask me, I didn't design it.

ah, seems it is version 5 manager that was having the problem. I have tried opening the config which is a 3.1 config in version 4 and it opens fine.

Shouldnt version 5 be able to open anything? could it still be to do with windows 7/version 5 and older configs?!

That could be but i use 5.0.8 and have not problems with it
