Windows 7 USB Audio

Has anyone come across a problem in windows 7 where by a usb audio device is installed, it shows ok in the device manager but does not show in the sound dialog so it can be chosen for audio input/output?

Right-click on the Volume Icon in the Notification Area. Select Recording Devices or Playback Devices. In that resulting window right-click on a blank area, and play with the available options such as "show disabled devices" etc. to configure your sound.
