Hi,

On a new Dell Optiplex 980 about a week ago, I had configured and tested 2 HP printers and everything seemed fine.

A few days later, the print SPOOLER Service won't start.

I have tried a bunch of things...

I have checked SPOOL service dependencies, tried,"START" of the service many times, re-booted, attempted "sc config spooler depend= RPCSS" (I get good status) and sfc /scannow (no errors resulted). There are no documents in the C:\Windows\Systems32\spool\PRINTERS folder. What else?

I have seen other postings on the web on people who had the same problem under Win7 (also occurred in Vista and XP for some users) and most seem to indicate that the above steps have solved their problem. I have not had any success with those methods.

Can anyone suggest a way of solving this problem? It would be much appreciated.

See if you can adapt or modify the suggestions in this old XP thread?
