windows 7 laptop - extending display to external monitor

just upgraded my laptop to windows 7.

only issue I have so far is that on Vista, I could connect an external LCD screen to my laptop, make it the primary, and then I could work off that screen as primary, and open windows on the laptop screen and work off that also (good for remote desktop etc).

since I upgraded to windows 7 I can still extend my desktop, but the mouse will not go over to the laptop screen, it is just blank screen.

what am I missing?

fixed it. I needed to download the ATI driver from the manufacturer website, after that I could work off of the second screen.
