In at least the past few days, I found we were unable to connect between our Windows 7 connected computers at home. Had never had this issue that I can remember for a few years. I haven't had time to diagnose but thought I'd take time today. I tried in Windows on 2 different machines, and no results. Then I thought it had to do with all the computers, so I'd check the router. Our router needed a firmware update (Netgear R7000), so I ran that update, and let it reboot. After the reboot the issue was fixed. I imagine that simply rebooting the router would have fixed the issue, but ours just happened to have an update available. We were fully able to access the Internet and all of that, just not connect between computers.
So the key seemed to be a reboot of the router. I should have thought of that sooner, but oh well.
