Windows 7 and 8 updates are about to go "Windows 10"-style

Looks like individual updates in Windows 7 and 8 are now going to be combined into a single, monthly rollup. Only Pro and Enterprise versions will continue to have some control over them (but it begs the question "for how long?"). Must be part of the plan to get us all to bite the bullet and switch to Windows 10, especially now that it's not free.

I wonder if they will force driver updates as well, like they do in Windows 10
 
That would result in some borked computers from my experience. Rarely does it happen, but................ I'd rather choose the driver rather Microsoft noodling it/installing for me.
