Hi everyone,

I have two drives - an 80 gig and a 200 gig.
I installed a fresh copy of WIndows 2k on my first drive. Before I installed this fresh copy, my 200 gig was partitioned up into three partitions and working just fine. I have a Maxtor PCI card because of the large size of the drive, and it was working fine. However, with this fresh install of Windows 2k, the drive doesn't show up in My Computer. It does, however, show up in Admin Tools -> Computer Management as being there, and it is represented as one whole drive, not three.

I know for a fact that if I install Windows XP the drive shows up the correct way, however I really need to have Windows 2k installed because a piece of software I have only works on Windows 2k.

Do any of you know how I can get Windows 2k to see my drive as it truely is - three partitions?

Your help is greatly appreciated!

wolluf,

Yes I have installed servicepack 4 and I have no overlay software.

thanks for your help :)

Did you confirm or add the registry entry shown in the resolution section of the Microsoft article wolluf posted a link to?

I have had similar problems and found that I had to install the service packs before the drives were recognized correctly. If you haven't installed your service packs, try it and see if that helps...
