Hello
We have a windows 2008 DHCP server and NAT server connected with DSL for internet, and we managed to connect the host to the internet through the NAT server.
But what happens is that the hosts get dynamic IP from the DSL router which also has DHCP enabled, and when I disable the DHCP in the DSL router the host get IP from the service provider in the WAN area.
Of course, when I manually assign host IP to our LAN everything works fine.
How can I make the hosts get dynamic IP from our LAN not from the router or the internet.
BTW, we have our server on top of vmware ESXi 5.0 server. DNS, DHCP and Nat servers are on the same windows with IP 192.168.0.1

Thanks in advance.

You can keep two DHCP servers in one LAN, if they are properly configured to give IP addresses from the same address range and the same configuration (gateway, DNS server etc.) to workstations and do not distribute overlapping IP addresses.
If you have Windows DNS server, I suggest to disable DHCP on router and use only Windows as DHCP.
The hosts behind DSL router will not get IP addresses from ISP, router will not pass DHCP requests to WAN.

How many publicly routable DHCP addresses does your DSL provider give you? You should only be getting one for the DSL modem unless you are paying for more than one.

Anyway, if the usual tricks don't seem to work you can always use separate physical networks. Run one network from the DSL modem to the NAT host, then the second from the NAT host to the internal network. If it's actually doing NAT then your clients have no need to communicate with the DSL modem directly.
