I’m looking for clarification in regards to Windows 2008 Remote Desktop Services deployment of service roles. For example in my environment I would have on average 80 – 100 users with a maximum of 127 concurrent RDP sessions. I will be deploying vSphere 4.x and plan to create some MS Remote Desktop Hosts (Terminal Servers). Should I be dedicating a Virtual Machine for each Remote Desktop Service? For example, I plan on having 4 Remote Desktop Session Hosts. I would plan out which user is a light or heavy user ahead of time and load balance accordingly. Would I be installing the RD Session Host, RD Web Access, and RD Connection Broker service roles all on the same host? My thoughts are to create 4 RD Session Host virtual machines. Then create a dedicated virtual machine to handing licensing and an additional dedicated virtual machine to host both the RD Connection Broker and RD Web Access service roles. So in total I would have 6 virtual machines. But, do I need to dedicate a server (virtual machine) for the RD Web Access/RD Connection Broker? Your thoughts…
