Guys, (apologies if in wrong forum, not sure if should belong here or Windows 7 forum) we have just installed a new Windows 2008 server with the print server role. Everything seems to work okay until we noticed a slight issue when running netstat from a Windows 7 client.
The Windows 2008 print server has around 20 printers which are all presented via GPO to various users.
The Windows 7 client, whilst nothing is open, netstat results are fine. However, if we open an application or Devices and Printers, netstat shows we spawn a lot of connections from that client to the print server. These connections are dropped again if said App or Devices and Printers are closed.
The closest I found to this issue on google etc was to do with rendering prints on the client, but this is turned off.
Is this expected behaviour between Windows 2008 and Windows 7 (doesnt happen if server is a W2K3 server or client is XP, although does if Vista) or is there something I am missing?
Thanks in advance...
