Is the only way to view shadow copies on 2003 available when you are at the console? I can view shadow copies from windows xp clients but when I log in through remote desktop I cannot see anything. I tried logging into remote desktop using the /console switch but I still see nothing.

You can only view them using the client if you view it through a share or mapped drive. If you view the share \\server\sharename on the server then you should be able to see the shadow copies.
